EMC Research Recognized at the 2025 Pollie Awards for Strategic Impact in California

Pollie Award

We’re thrilled to share that EMC Research has been recognized by the American Association of Political Consultants (AAPC) at the 2025 Pollie Awards for our work in California’s 76th Assembly District. Known as the “Oscars of political advertising,” the Pollies honor the most effective and innovative work in politics and public affairs each year.

Our team received national recognition for Best Use of Polling Research – State, celebrating our role in shaping Dr. Darshana Patel’s successful campaign to hold California’s most competitive Assembly district.

In a race where both major parties invested heavily and statewide stakes were high, EMC’s early research and custom analytics tools helped the campaign cut through the noise and connect with the voters who mattered most. By applying our California Analytics Package, we combined oversamples of No Party Preference (NPP) voters with proprietary modeling to reduce a field of more than 278,000 registered voters to a decisive group of approximately 40,000 swing voters.

From initial polling to advanced segmentation and turnout modeling, our analytics helped the campaign target key messaging on issues like reproductive freedom, cost of living, and public safety — driving strategy and maximizing impact. Through ongoing tracking, focus groups, and message testing, we uncovered what moved voters most and helped the campaign stay focused, avoid unnecessary rebuttals, and reinforce messages that resonated at the district level.

Dr. Patel ultimately won the race 54% to 46%, more than doubling the margin of victory from the previous cycle and outperforming the district’s Democratic registration advantage. We’re honored to see our work celebrated on a national stage. Behind every data point is a story — and we’re proud to help campaigns tell theirs with precision, purpose, and impact.
